I view the home as a sanctuary, a safe haven from our modern busy lives. 

 

The Wabi-Sabi concepts are a fundamental part of my design process and approach to life in general. I cherish the wear, cracks, pain and joy that come with time. 

 

There is so much beauty within the transience of life, and the natural cycles of creation & destruction. Nature is wise, we must commune with her, listen, and celebrate the most important ceremony of all: Daily Life.

 

A well designed space, like any other well designed object, must evolve & maintain excellence over many years and not just in the moment it is first constructed. Some would call it a patina, like an aged cake of fine Pu-erh, or a perfectly worn leather boot.
